What better way to help save our little blue planet than by having fun?

The Weld Shopping Centre will be having a Love Our Planet Shop-A-Hunt on 24th October 2009 and registration is now open to everyone out there. As the name implies, this Shop-A-Hunt will have an environmental message to it while you and your family and friends have fun going around the centre, searching for clues, wrestle mini-games and solve puzzles.

All participants stand to win attractive cash prizes for the first 3 placing, hampers and goodie bags. First prize walks away with RM 2,000 cash and hamper, second prize gets RM 1,500 cash and hamper and third prize gets RM 1,000 and hamper.

To enter your team, shoppers will just need to spend RM100 or more in a single receipt at any retail or F&B outlet at The Weld from now till 19th October 2009. Each entry must consist of a team of 3 – 4 members.

Besides the Shop-A-Hunt, The Weld will also be holding Pre-Event activities to build up the excitement to the actual day of the hunt. These Pre-Event activities will also have a green message to it where NGOs such as SPCA, Alam Flora, Global Environment Centre and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Malaysia).

The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor will be campaigning on their Adopt-A-Stray programme to encourage people to adopt stray dogs and cats and give them a new life. SPCA also aims to educate the public on responsible pet ownership and to improve the welfare of animals in their community. So be set to get up, close and personal with really cute animals at The Weld!

You can also donate your old newspapers, magazines or any used paper for recycling at the Alam Flora booth. These items will be weighed and turn into cash. All proceeds will go to SPCA.

Learn more on how to preserve our beautiful rainforests and rivers by visiting the Global Environment Centre’s booth and how to save wild animals that is on the verge of extinction with WWF-Malaysia’s Direct Debit Donor Programme.

To add more fun to all these, we are also inviting shoppers to Adopt-A-Plant. You can purchase a miniature indoor plant for a minimum donation of only RM 2 per plant. Better hurry, as only 100 pots of plants are up for adoption each day! All proceeds from this will also go to SPCA.
